SF - Alcatraz 2 of 2 + choc + out

Narrated by former prisoners and guards including sound effects  like metal plates banging on cell bars to jeers from inmates for new arrivals, the audio tour was very good
Outside recreation was important and one of the few perks
Only the worst came here
Governers quarters with Bay Bridge on background
One mile away. If wind blowing the right way then prisoners could hear city nightlife some evenings
90 guards and families required to cover 3 x 8 hr shifts per day. Families living outside main cell area never locked their doors and had 2 bowling alleys
Communal non prisoner building burnt down during native american occupation late 60's
Then when back on dry mainland we went to another tourist place

Our host elaine babysat after we had put them to sleep. We drove to North Beach and went to Tupelos. Sarah bought the t shirt. We watched amazing jazz funk or west coast blues by GG Amos a woman of about 50 backed by three guys
Gosh she could make that guitar sing. Every solo was like honey coffee and chocolate syrup every second surrounded by a warm glow. And no cover charge

And it was someones birthday. So GG sang a blues version of happy birthday with extra lyrics and even that was sensational. By accident we found ourselves in the middle of the birthday group so got offered cakes too!

Xxx
