Estes Park & The Stanley Hotel

In Colorado inspiration for The Shining whrn Stephen King stayed there. It was not used in the film but was in the miniseries.

We went for lunch. Sarah loves the book so really wanted to go. Photos adorned the walls

Estes Park itself was beautiful. Its a summer resort. Not a winter resort as its roads are poor and Vail and Aspen nearby are served by interstates. Arapaho Indians used to live here in summertime calling it "the circle".
