Day 10- Hokitika-along the estuary

Originally built up because of a gold rush in the 1800's.  Hokitika was famous for flooding and for the perilous landing and departure by boat. Tow lines snapped.  Boats got stuck or sunk or were dangerous to get on or off.

now facing inwards away from the estuary the low area on the right was originally water where the boats would go
walking along to sunset point we found a ship. A pirate ship of course with picnic tables on it. The fact that it was made of concrete was not an issue for Rowan. No need to start explaining Archimedes principle to him either yet
