Manuwera-Cars and cakes

Arrived saturday pm. Cleaned car inside and out. Went to a car sale at Ellerslie race course

35$ fee. Set your price. Park up. Wait. Started off at 2250 ie what I paid. No interest first hour. Dropped to 1999. One interest. Chinese Bloke next to me gave lots of tips eg about using a traffic cone to keep you slot if you do a test drive. How to drop price and when. Warrant of fitness where to download. How to change ownership.

2 german girls on the other side had been driving around for 5 months said that now its end of traveller season certain cars are cheaper/more compared to at start of summer.

2 guys opposite asking 4500$ for a 2 person sleeper had no interest. Looked a bit unhappy.

So dropped perhaps prematurely to 1700 and 3 Indian guys wanted a test drive immediately. I didnt want to get stuck with it and could find noone to sell it for us for free so I took 1600.
So it cost us less than 50£ per week to own the car in nz. Still a good deal and much cheaper than renting. Thanks again Eddy

I was a bit nervous about the while thing but have learnt a lot about buying as well which should help in the States.

Next day had to go to 3 banks to change the nz $ into Can $.   We bought food and did Carbonara for Christine. And the kids got busy too

Spent 2 hrs doing admin and planning of the next phase. I have had a speeding ticket in iz and one in nz. And only ever one in Uk in 2002
Xxx
