French island on the way there

Leaving our incredible Yarra valley hosts john and judy was mixed emotions as we had been made to feel so welcome and had seen a great advert for australian life. Keep that hair unstraightened judy!

In order to avoid train bus train train we said yes to johns offer of a lift direct to the ferry. So getting up at 4.30am we left at 5am. Ferry port arrived as it was getting light

so we dumped our bags and had an hour to wait until ticket office opened. the flies were terrible so we had a challenging few moments until lotions were applied. A kind man called lumpy made us a hot drink and the kids watxhed tv in his shack for a few mins
on an "amenities" walk to a nearby camp site
after the 15 minute ferry we again sat and waited in a dusty carpark. Lots of cars with no registrations. No host.

A bloke drove up

 "you ok?"

'we are trying to find graham little'

"ok i will ring him"

2 calls later the conclusion was

"ok I will drive you there"

chris was nursing a wrist hurt when a sheep charged him and turned his head at the last minute. He was a fountain of knowledge during our ten minute ride. (more tomrw)

and now we are staying In the house used during recovery from cancer by Kylie Minogue
