Soverign Hill - Day 2

Is in Victoria, just north west of Melbourne. It is in the 'Golden Triangle' and you can still find gold and dig a gold mine if you own the land. The only problem is that most of the gold near the surface is in short supply and to find more you'll need some serious equipment! 

Today we went panning for gold but it was too hot to do it for too long..

As usual poor old Rowan was doing most of the hard work..

And you can see there wasn't a cloud in the sky..

Esme was in full Meltdown mode owing to the heat so we wetted her top. But she then wouldnt put it back on again. So shade water food and alternating encouragement or coercion was required. She held onto her gold jar loyally

then we saw beaty and the beast for 2nd day. Different actors but kids still loved I

then boiled sweet making

the black lumps on the board are preflattening.very hot...

miners diets were sheep and bread so a sweetmade with Imported sugar was a rare treat.
