Road trip

Our first big road trip in Canada - and it's very easy to under- estimate the size if this huge country.. We lost an hour by entering another time zone! Now we're in 'mountain time!'

We hired a flash car for the weekend and set off for a 4-5 hour drive from Salmon Arm to Banff.

Within an fifteen minutes Esme had been sick - and so had Rowan so much fiddling about ensued.. Then we really set off.. Within an hour it was snowing on the Trans-Canadian Highway and Esme was asleep

Then we found a great little diner in Golden - I honestly didn't think they existed apart from in films.. But they do!

This was my not-so-delicious burger..

But it filled a hole!

Back on the road again.. And the snow cleared for a bit

And the snow appeared.. And it hasn't left us!

We arrived safely in Banff after driving through The Rockies.. But didn't see any of them because of the low fog and obscuring cloud..

But the children are super-excited and have been having a great time throwing loads of snowballs and making snow angels;)

Esme's holding a massive icicle that comes through the bottom of her glove!

So we are here for a few days and hopefully we will see some of the amazing scenery. Here's a little peek..

Wish you were here!!
