Day 8 - Haast to Franz Joseph

After queuing for the toaster we had a challenging behaviour day from the children in the car. Its a lot to ask from them so we tried to mix it up with stops a bit more

sand flies are prevalent here. So after a stop we have to have a squashing session once we have got back in. Steam was lifting off the road as we went
so you either make your mark OR you make your mark by not making your mark (its the one parable i remember from primary school)

we then headed to glacier very high hill territory with the phone turned up so any nleeps or whistles would reveal signal again
walking around Matheson Lake Rowan was a cross between david bailey and bellamy and bedford (runner) and esme was a cross between a screaming child walking and a screaming child standing
a two man costs £1000 a month
2man 4 then 6 L to R.
big business
at last the site
kids were so glad to be out the car. Played an hour on the playground whilst we pitched. Its not every day we camp next to a snow topped peak!
