Beautiful Napier

After what felt like 4 or 5 days in the car ( actually 2 days) we arrived in Napier last night and yep.  Youve got it- pitched our tent in the dark.. but it didn't matter,  its a great campsite,  lovely grass (the things you notice when camping!) And definitely the best campsite we have been in in the whole of nz.

Esme and Rowan had great fun playing dress up this morning and with a few clothes they found around the tent!

So; bright and breezy this morning;  with a daytime temp of 27c and with nighttime temperature of 19c.. so lovely and warm after a blustery south island!

We were up and at Napier by 10 this morning and had a whole day of the lovely town that was utterly wrecked by a 7.8 earthquake in 1931 and completely rebuilt in an amazing 22 months due to the great depression meaning loads if spare labour available.  Thousands if builder's flocked here to rebuild the city and it is one if the remaining art deco cities in the world. . (Similar to Miami)
